KEYNOTE SPEAKER
AOPA VICE PRESIDENT TO ADDRESS OREGON PILOTS' ASSOCIATION
Greg Pecoraro, Vice President for Airports and State Advocacy of the Aircraft and Pilots Association (AOPA) will be a featured speaker on Saturday August 29th. As one of the most knowledgeable advocates and spokespersons on General Aviation in the country, he will bring his insight into the challenges we as pilots face, and will invite questions on what we as an organization, and as individuals, can be doing to protect our freedom to fly.
Mr. Pecoraro is responsible for airports, state and local government relations, the Airport Support Network program, and directing the work of the Association’s 12 Regional Representatives. He comes to AOPA with an extensive background in federal, state, and local government, having served as Maryland’s Assistant Secretary of Transportation and as Chief of Staff to the County Executive of Baltimore County. Earlier, Pecoraro twice served as an assistant to U.S. Senator Paul Sarbanes and as Special Assistant and Deputy State Treasurer to the State Treasurer of Maryland. He is also a member of the City Council in Westminster, Maryland, where he has served for over 14 years, and has been active in many other community and civic organizations.
Pecoraro studied political science at the Johns Hopkins University, and resides in Westminster, MD with his wife, Cyd and daughter Alexandra.
One other thing: he flies airplanes.
