New Online aviation forum
President-elect Fitzpatrick is again leading the way with a new and improved discussion forum for members who would like to participate in online discussions related to aviation topics.
A "forum" is similar to the older "Yahoo Groups" which some of you may be familar with - only better! On a forum you can view and reply (if you register) from a variety of aviation topics. The forum is divided into "boards" or broad interests.
This new NW Flying Forum currently has the following boards available.

- Discuss Flying / Flying Destinations
- EAA Topics
- Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) and Ultralights
- Idaho EAA Chapter and IAA News
- Montana EAA and MPA News
- Oregon EAA, OPA and PRA Chapter News
- Washington EAA and WPA Chapter News
- Airport News
- FBO News
- Maintenance Issues
- Fly-Mart
- Aviation Legislative News
- Where To Find E0 (ethanol free fuel)
- Know Your Rights As A Pilot
Some boards have sub-boards, like the Oregon board has a separate board for EAA, OPA and PRA. Check it out at http://iflyit.net or click the link at the top left side of this page (the blue shaded column)

Airport Information Representatives, Oregon
AIRO-ASN Page update!
Oregon airports the state wants in our volunteer airport reporting system
(AIRO) that we are organizing in conjunction with AOPA. You will also
see a simple Oregon Department of Aviation (ODA) form that the AIRO volunteers
will use as a checklist to report on items such as runway and taxiway
condition and other facilities.
Airport reporting is simple and should be fun. One or two people per
airport will constitute the local AIRO team. Call your chapter president
soon to become the rep for your favorite airport before somebody else
takes it.
OPA designees to Department of Aviation Committees
Here is the list of four Oregon Pilots' Association members designated
for voting membership on the ODA committees:
Aviation Master Planning: Dianne Johnson, Mulino OPA chapter, dijohnson@qwest.net
System Planning: Bob Hall, Troutdale chapter, bob_hall@pnnw.net
Senate Bill 680: Gail Hill, Polk County chapter, kalima@thehillshouse.org
Economic Impact: Dennis Meyer, Troutdale chapter, dnmeyer@pacifier.com
Be sure to thank these folks for stepping forward to represent the General
Aviation perspective. It is the participation of volunteers that can make
all the difference in the outcome. These appointments to important committees
were the result of the newly revitalized communications taking place between
OPA and the Oregon Department of Aviation personnel. Many changes in ODA
staffing over the past couple of years made it difficult to address certain
issues during transitions.
