About OPA

"Keeping Oregon Flying Since 1936"

The Oregon Pilots Association was registered on February 10, 1936.

OPA membership is open to anyone interested in general aviation. Many non-pilots and past pilots belong to OPA and share major objectives including the encouragement of safe flying practices by pilots and promoting aviation with the general public. Local OPA chapters provide flight scholarships, educational forums for aviation enthusiasts as well as to serve as a resource to local communities seeking the benefits of local aviation facilities.

The OPA is one of the oldest state pilots’ associations in America. OPA is a tax-exempt 501(c)(7) organization.

The Oregon Air Safety and Education Foundation (OASEF) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization; donations to ASEF are tax deductible.

The OPA objectives are:

·         Advocate for general aviation on legislative matters.

·         Support and protect the interests of general aviation.

·         Provide a forum for educational and safety training.

·         Voluntary participation in disaster and relief missions.

·         Provide social and networking opportunities.
